University of Ruhuna welcomed a delegation from South China Botanical Garden (SCBG) of Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS) on May 13th, 2015 at the Vice Chancellor's Office. The aim of the visit was to establish research collaboration in the area of medicinal plants. Chinese delegation learned about the plant research conducted by the University of Ruhuna through the presentations given by academics of the University. The delegates, Professor Huang Hongwen the Director of SCBG, Professor Wei Xiaoyi, Phytochemist, Professor Chen Feng, Traditional Chinese Medicine and Professor Xia Nianhe, Taxonomist highly praised the research conducted by the University and expressed their willingness to go for a research collaboration.
