Vacancy – Temporary Assistant Lecturer

Applications are invited from suitable qualified candidates for the following post in the Faculty of Science of the University of Ruhuna.

Post : Temporary Assistant Lecturer in English (02 vacancies)

Qualifications :

Qualifications:

1. A. (Hons) Degree in Teaching English as a Second Language (TESL) with a First Class or Second Class (Upper or Lower Division) pass — candidates with this qualification will be given preference,

or

2. A. (Special) Degree in English with a First Class or Second Class (Upper or Lower Division) pass,

or

3. A. (General) Degree with English as a subject, and a Postgraduate Degree (preferably an M.A.) in a field related to English language teaching.

Note:

Candidates with postgraduate qualifications and prior teaching experience at university level will have an added advantage.

Responsibilities :

Responsibilities of the Temporary Assistant Lecture include conducting instruction, conducting continuous assessments, coordinating and conducting all enrichment activities organized by the ELTU.

Period of the Assignment :

The position is initially for one year period and can be extended maximum of further one year upon satisfactory performance.
