Applications are invited from motivated and qualified candidates for the post of Temporary Research Assistant in the Department of Information and Communication Technology.
Job Description:
The successful candidate will provide dedicated research support to academic staff and ongoing projects within the department.
Key responsibilities include:
- Conducting literature reviews and data collection related to computing and IT.
- Assisting in the design, development, and maintenance of software systems, databases, and network environments for research.
- Implementing algorithms and developing prototypes for various research procedures.
- Collecting, recording, and performing preliminary analysis of research data.
- Contributing to the preparation of research reports, presentations, and publications.
- Ensuring proper maintenance of computing resources and adherence to cybersecurity and ethics protocols.
Qualifications required:
- Bachelor of Information and Communication Technology (BICT) degree or a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
AND
- At least one year of experience in the relevant field/ research.
Preferred Additional Qualifications:
- Prior research experience (e.g., as an undergraduate/postgraduate researcher, industry R&D).
- Strong technical writing and communication skills in English.
- Proficiency in relevant programming languages (e.g., Python, Java, C++) and data analysis tools (e.g., R, MATLAB, Jupyter).
- Experience in emerging fields such as Artificial Intelligence, Mobile Computing, Data Science, IoT, or Cybersecurity.
