China Sri Lanka Joint Centre for Education and Research University of Ruhuna Project Assistant (On Assignment Basis)

The China Sri Lanka Joint Centre for Education and Research (CSL CER), University of Ruhuna, is inviting applications from suitably qualified individuals for the post of Project Assistant for a period of one (01) year, commencing from February 2026. An extension may be considered based on performance and availability of funds.

Responsibilities

The position is responsible for Assisting in the day-to-day operations and ongoing activities of the center, support in organizing meetings, workshops, and related research programs, assisting in managing and maintaining CSL CER’s two standard laboratories, including instruments and equipment, provide administrative support for research projects and research grant schemes, maintain and update the official CSL CER web page and social media, coordinate with administrative units of the University, support procurement and logistics processes as required.

Qualifications

Candidates should be Sri Lankan citizens and less than 35 years of age as at closing date of applications. A strong academic background in Marine Sciences, Biology, Chemistry, Microbiology or a related discipline is essential.

Preference will be given to candidates with postgraduate qualifications and prior experience in research project management

Remuneration

Rs. 95,000.00 per month for B.Sc. Qualifications

Rs. 110,000.00 per month for postgraduate qualifications
